When I first started drinking in The Albion, the landlady Bev was great, but she left! I hoped the new landlords would be just as good, but The Albion has got worse and worse. It takes over 30 mins on some nights to get served. Never enough staff. I'm often unable to order food and if I can it takes an hour to arrive. The toliets are just disgusting. The ladies have only had one loo working for over four weeks and the men's smell horrible and this smell often welcomes you in to the pub - nice. Please please please improve.... awfulalbion - 8 May 2008 19:56
The pub has floundered over the past few months, but it does seem to be getting back on track, although rather slowly martinpd - 10 Apr 2008 18:22
Once great, then nose dived when the previous Landlady, Bev, left. Recent signs of improvements sadly appear to have been short lived. This is my local, and in the last couple of weeks alone, food has been unavailable due to lack of kitchen staff, the International Football wasn't being shown (apparrently because their Sky Licence had expired!!), and the state of the Ladies' toilets (so my other half says) has deteriorated to the point of being disgusting. In 'The City', it's known as a 'Dead Cat Bounce'... Show signs of recovery, then continues to get worse... ExAlbionite - 31 Mar 2008 17:09
what a great pub, been there a few times and it looks better and better each time, i heard some local guys talking of the landlords sad news, shame because he was doing really well, the last couple of times we've been in it seems the guys and gals are under pressure (short Staffed) lets hope when the landlord (Stewart) is back it'll all be good again. great pub in the summer. jimmy2 - 2 Mar 2008 15:24
