The Black Heart is located in a narrow side street just parallel to the main drag in Camden. It is a rockers pub that is dark and noisy. But it is large enough inside and I managed to secure a seat on my Friday evening visit. The solitary ale was Gloucester Red Sorachi. They also had Lilleys Sunset Cider & Bee Sting Perry. There seemed to be a good range of craft and bottled beers too. The unisex toilets are fairly unique. I remembered reading about them, but still wondered if I was in the right place when following a couple of women in.

£12 for a glass of wine and a pint of cask ale. (Would have been nice to have a choice but only one cask ale available)

Unisex toilet reeked of p*ss and the cubical door didn't lock. Toilet roll chained to the wall.

I'll not be ruching back!

Visited this proper trendy and very cool bar for the 1st time around 6pm on Saturday night and I love it!

A good choice of ales & lagers with the emphasis of local ales and American, I went for a pint of Camden Towns Camden Ink on ta it’s supposed to be a stout but was more like a black lager. Nicely kept and very drinkable. As well as the tap selection there is a large and varied choice of bottled beers there’s even a menu to help you decide.

Pool table by the door as you enter, plenty of sofas and booth seats, food served from a hatch at the end of the bar, the food mainly appeared to be chicken and burgers. The menu had me hooked but I didn’t see any being served and as this was a flying visit I was only here for the beer.

Large compliment of beer pump clips running across the bar ceiling, many clips from beers I’d love to try.

Loud music playing but it worked well as this is a very cool place.

Worth mentioning the unisex toilets.

A great place that I’m already itching to go back to.

One of Central Camden's better boozers - has a bit of character and personality (as long as metal, rock, or a touch of goth is your cup of tea). Decent pop-up food options. Good service and an acceptable range of beers, although the provision of ales is a bit patchy.

In the evenings they whack the music up super-loud which is a shame. I enjoy a more energetic ambience as much as the next man, but at club volume it kind of undermines the whole reason to go to the pub. This aside, a quality establishment.

What a find this was, normally head to The World's End but a friend took me hear instead and man what a pub, very dark, very rock n roll, have a wide selection of ale's and lagers which seem to change on a regular basis which is always good, seem to have connections with the camden brewery which is also good, i was also impressed with there selection of bourbon's, Elijah Craig, Four Roses small batch, Woodford Reserve and Knobcreek, all very tasty indeed. They also have a small food menu, and i'd recommend the pizza's, so next time your in the area, give it a go, well worth a visit.
