| Visited yesterday afternoon for a quick drink. I've not been in this pub for about 30 years and I'm sorry to say it's not what it was. We entered by the front door into what now looks like a saloon bar and stood waiting for about a minute or so for someone to spot us from the other bar. No such luck, had to go round into a sort of public / games room area only to find staff / friends huddled at the end of the bar just chatting and completely unaware of anyone in the other bar. Never mind, two nice drinks and it was off to the garden which is enclosed, gated and quite nice. All was going well until someone put a record on the jukebox ! It was then we found out that a SPEAKER had been placed close to the edge of the garden and not one other person in the garden apart from us ! It was the usual pop-pap and loud enough to drown out any conversation in the immediate area. My wife commented, "looks like they are trying to tell us something". We finished our drinks, took the glasses back, said cherio and got no reply ! Conclusion, all other pubs in the area have nothing to fear on the competition front ! 4/10 Biker - 8 Aug 2008 07:33 |

| Friendly Landlord and landlady. Customers from all wolks of life, friendly but not intrusive. Still have separate saloon and public bars which is nice. A relaxing pub. anonymous - 8 Apr 2007 00:15 |
