perfectly satisfactory watering hole in an area dominated by sad , featureless "bars" populated by undiscriminating young city types.... The_Speckled_Hen - 2 Jul 2010 15:06
overpriced, suit-dominated beer supermarket. Poundland99 - 4 May 2010 10:25
If a lack of character and atmosphere mean that you want a fight then I would stick to the North of Old Street too! Not sure what people mean to be honest. Yes it is a little pricey but the staff are always friendly, chatty and swift and always seems to be busier than the surrounding pubs. Have tried most of the other pubs and it certainly seems to me that the old quote "you get what you pay for" is true. Top marks! Pumpy - 25 Jan 2010 11:16
I seem to always end up here as it's on the way to Moorgate from where I work, but it ain't great, that's for sure. My New Year's resolution is to stick to the north of Old Street. The Youngs ales are pleasing but otherwise, there is a real lack of character to the place. BoehmBawerk - 16 Jan 2010 10:38
This place is a bit food orientated for my liking with condiments on every table, but the governor was extremely friendly and my pint of Guinness was very nice. Ordinary, Special and Bombardier were also available alongside a selection of standard draught and premium lagers. The pub décor is nothing out of the ordinary, but there is a decent pool room downstairs that houses two tables. This place isn’t worth a special trip, but I wouldn’t have a problem with having a beer here if passing. Strongers - 27 Sep 2009 21:49
