What this pub lacks in ambience it more than makes up for by the way it looks after its' guests and keeps its' ale. My parents often stay at the pub when they're in Brentford visiting us, the staff look after them like their own family and the accomodation is clean and very good value (currently £60 per night for a double room including cooked breakfast - difficult to find elsewhere in West London).
Beer wise, Fullers London Pride and Timothy Taylors Landlord are the staples. Very well kept, I think amongst the best in Brentford (and I've tried most of 'em).
Extremely convenient for the Railway Station, so busy during evening commuter hours, but otherwise underused.

Dirty, Chavvy....BIG TIME. Simply not a nice place to go

Like so many pubs, so much potential gone to waste.
Its close to the A4 and Brentford mainline station.
Looks unappealing from outside, marginally better inside.
The Globe has more appeal, as does the Magpie & Crown

Perfect place to go for an early night. It shuts at 6.30pm on a Saturday!

My advice? There's plenty of decent pubs in the Brentford area who will welcome you and appreciate your custom.

Don't bother with this one.

I stayed here a few weeks ago and I found:

- professional staff
- a reasonable pint of London Pride
- a mixed and lively but relaxed crowd
- the best egg and chips I've had for years
- a clean and comfortable room for sixty pounds
- a good breakfast

If you are working in the area it's a fine choice.
