I am very impressed with this pub. nice warm glow as you enter, all tables with a 'church' candle burning. Proper English food as well as more adventurous choices. Ham Egg and Chips for £6:50 is a bargain in my eyes, and there was plenty on the plate. deserts were individually made and well presented. Service was excellent, and a good choice of beer and wine available. The carpark is large which is justified as it became very busy as the evening wore on. dixon75 - 21 Sep 2007 16:08
A very nice country pub in the suburbs. Nice atmosphere with fires and candles. Good wholesome English food cooked properly (not out of a microwave) and friendly staff. Good range of Badger beers - the Festive Feasant was delicious. My wife said the loos were very clean derekhoare - 20 Jan 2007 14:34
Another acceptable H & W pub I feel. It's the sort of place you would not feel ashamed to take your foreign guests to. I mean who wants dirty & torn & stained chairs to sit on to start with? Thank goodness modern pubs are cleaning themselves up. gypsymoth - 6 Jan 2007 23:25
I have visited this pub many times in the last 7 years. It used to be a lovely Olde Worlde pub with character and nick-nacks everywhere. Not any more, it is now totally a gastro pub....not a comfy chair in sight but you can sit at the bar, the rest is all dining tables so it might be an idea to find out if they still allow dogs. It is also no smoking throughout. We have lost yet another great pub. fusspot - 14 Oct 2006 23:35
