well i will say it has got a little bit pricey lately but who cares , during the day you get a wide range of people in , some dining some just drinking (usually me) , late afternoon it starts getting busy when the office bods get home and fancy a quick beer , normally (sun mon-thurs) dies off around 8pm , but i have never had a bad pint in here , the staff (during the day at least) are superb , never known any trouble in here , well when ive been there , there hasnt been , a nice little gem hidden off the trail of the pubs in hornchurch , top hole ! romfordir - 26 Aug 2007 03:52
Super pub, friendly staff great food, good atmosphere . We use other pubs in the area but always end up returning to our favourite by a mile. anonymous - 1 May 2007 15:34
one good thing about this pub is the food , no matter how busy it is , the food is always excellent , the beer is usually pretty well kept as for the comment on coors being a premium quality ale (which i assume was a snipe at me) this is the only pub in hornchurch which does coors and as with all the beer (lager or otherwise) it is usually in a very well kept condition and tastes superb , the only let down is the premium prices but compared to some of the pubs in the near vicinity id rather pay the extra to sit in a nice friendly pub think its only about 3p a pint dearer than the hogshead and there isnt much chance of a fight breaking out in here , the staff are excellent , the food is excellent and the beer is excellent so this to me is the number 1 pub in the hornchurch area and thus my local romfordir - 2 Mar 2007 11:30
Packed out last night, full of many loser types that think the Coors Light on draught is a premium quality ale...the Adnams Broadside was good however, GK IPA also available. The buffet provided during the function I attended was excellent, really top notch, surprising as the place was so busy with 2 functions going on and a pub full of drinkers. Pub itself large and clean, worth a visit for the food at least. Bernie5 - 25 Feb 2007 17:43
