Roadside pub that whilst being friendly had a limited beer range, with only 1 real ale on offer. I vaguely recall this may have been Old Speckled Hen. However, they did have a reasonable range of bottled cider from local producer Olivers. Snooker and then football was being shown on the TV. Not a bad pub. But shame they only had 1 beer. blue_scrumpy - 7 May 2012 11:20
Went a cple months ago for a Sunday meal, didnt book went on the off chance.Exellent meal, good value and service.New owners been in about 18 months.Very freindly.Went back last week-end Sat 2/4/11.Four of us went.2 of us had starters.Steaks were very nice.In fact all the food was exellent. The service very good ,Donna ,the receptionist/waitress was very good .Beer good,Butty Bach, and others on offer.Surprised me that there was not many people in restraunt, only 6 alltogether. But there was a few in the bar having lots of bar meals. All local food.A bit dearer than we would normally pay,but would definetly go again bobyar - 4 Apr 2011 20:32
Had an excellent lunch here last week, food delicious and well presented. Wye Valley Bitter only available but was ok. Main downside was the lack of a welcoming fire in the hearth. A fire has always been a plus in this barn of a pub and the cost of a few logs would go a long way to make it more welcoming. purplegoffer - 24 Feb 2010 10:34
Previous review WAS spot on, however the pub is under new management and things are looking up offering a selection of real ales and home cooking from both a la carte and bar menus. The restaurant has been redecorated and I gather the rest of the pub will be shortly. The infamous lap top left with the previous "landlady"!. davidpt - 7 Jan 2010 13:08
When I entered the pub I was not greeted with a friendly smile or hello just a grunt!(and this was from the landlady) I had to wait a long time to be served for my second drink as the owners seemed to be more interested in their lap top and serfing the net! I do not dare to try the food after hearing several very bad reports. The toilets needed a good clean. I feel sorry for the locals who only have one pub and unfortunately this is it! Maybe a course in buisness managment and customer skills would help! 121212 - 11 Jul 2009 11:14
