Cramped bar with only one real ale on - Stewarts IPA. Staff and locals very friendly . Horseracing is clearly a passion of the pub as the regulars discussed in great detail the action from Carlisle and Southwell being shown on both large TVs.

The previous description for the layout of the pub is still accurate but the one ale on offer was Stewart Brewery IPA which was in excellent form. Definitely worth a visit.

Small, fairly basic, bar at the front with a few items of rustic furniture and plenty of locals standing at (and more-or-less blocking) the counter. Another small room for diners at the front, and a larger restaurant area further back. Just one real ale on - Deuchars IPA - but that was OK.

The Crown hotel is a wee gem, i have visted here on and off for a good few years, myself and my wife stumbled across it 1 afternoon and have not looked back, the craic is great especially on a friday tea-time. Its no wonder the legendary Oliver Reed visited here so often when he was still with us. The staff are friendly and make you right at home along with the regulars who love a bit banter with new faces in the town. The rooms have recently been renovated and the power showers amazin for shakin out the cobwebs from your weery heed frae the night before! the food is excellent, especially the famous fresh fish and chips!! we first came in on a friday afternoon for a couple and ended up leavin on the tuesday!! more pubs should be like this!! family run and full o banter!!

This wee pub in Peebles is a fascinating place. They have real ale as well as a fine selection of local and international beers. The atmosphere is quite pleasant and the hosts friendly. They also serve food in the resturant that is of good quality and price. There's a link to the late Oliver Reed who used to frequent this spot while making a film at the nearby Neidpath Castle.
