This pub is now in new hands and well worth a visit. Having read the previous reviews we were upset to think this would be our local whilst on holiday over Xmas, but we needn't have worried. The landlady is a fabulous cook and made a special meal for our friend's 50th birthday. The food was really tasty, and there was a good choice. The Doombar and Tribute ales were well kept and there's a well stocked bar. Please give this pub another try - you won't be disappointed. Westiedog - 27 Dec 2011 15:43
Paid a visit to our long lost local pub and had an evening meal, with some friends, we all really enjoyed it, with the new land lady joining us for a chat. I must say give them a chance, and there is a great saying "Rome was not built in a day" There can only be good things ahead. sameold - 6 Dec 2011 17:09
Now under new management, a couple new to Cornwall apparently: she seems to have some idea. Place seemed OK but very gloomy indoors, and service a bit haphazard. Beer acceptable. Give it a few weeks and it might buck up. davercox - 17 Oct 2011 14:16
now the old landlord has gone bust, it is up for rent!! could be a good place for some of its "critics" to have a go then??? bogs have been cleaned, still in same style though michmet - 18 Sep 2011 16:48
Have to agree with other comments. Visited at the end of February with very fond memories of holidays in yers gone by. Didn't even stop to sample anything and moved on to the Smugglers Den the other side of Cubert. If memory serves me right this was nothing special in the 70's and 80's but is now superb. allinh - 29 Mar 2011 17:31
