What a waste of a great location.

Horrible "high street bar" feel to the interior of the pub.

Best avoided.

Just to let everyone know that Two for £10 Lunch menu is still available Mon-Fri 12-2pm. Lots of Great Football coming up in the next few weeks on Sky and ESPN and to remind you that many of the games are available in 3D here at The Bowgie. Jam Sessions continue on Thursday and Live Bands on Fridays!

I recently popped in here with my family for lunch and honestly could not have been more disappointed.

The feel that they seem to have gone for is "chavvy" - all Sky Sports and lager promotions, with a very limited children's menu consisting solely of assorted fried things with chips. We politely asked if a children's version of an adult meal could be provided and were told "absolutely not".

Of course the views here are great, but this only serves to make what has been done to the place all the more disappointing. Within a few miles in either direction there are at least half a dozen other pubs with the same views, all of which make the effort in terms of food, atmosphere and service (Lewinnick Lodge anyone ?).

I hope the current management team take note and improve The Bowgie - it could be a great pub and certainly deserves more care and attention than it is getting at the moment.
