We had a really good meal on Sunday. Even though the pub was busy the service was really quick. It's very child friendly, and the staff were charming. The food is not cheap and the menu is short - but what there is was excellent, and they did a good value kids' size version of the main meals. Roast dinner was £12, but it was very good. grvlx001 - 8 Aug 2011 17:11
Really not sure what the previous report is referring too...? This a great little country pub, there is so much attention to detail. The food is home-made, plentiful and beautifully presented. We have been quite a few times now, always great, cant recommend it enough! tiddlerstwo - 18 Nov 2010 17:25
Great place if you like getting shouted at by the loony landlord and assaulted by his drunken wife. If you just want a quite beer though I'd go down the road. RintysMate - 17 Sep 2009 10:11
Called in on Saturday afternoon & found a sensational folk singing session going on - apparently it only happens once a year. Very friendly & (under the circumstances) un-flappable staff. Well worth a visit. SamRich - 15 May 2008 22:09
Been to this pub a few times now, right out of the way, and thats the way the locals like it. Small and quirky, and thats a positive attribute, choice of cask and food, although food is not served on a monday, but the landlord mustered up two ploughmans on the monday we visited just to keep us alive as we were truly starving. On the whole a rewarding couple of hours spent with some nice people, pleasent conversation, and a true feeling of being welcome. Give it a try,but dont tell to many people if you manage to find it, remember, it can be our little secret. clapham - 28 Sep 2005 15:01
