always a great pub to meet mates in - either to stay for the night on the beers or as a starting point. Can get a bit busy - but that's good - bar staff are quick and clear the empties really quickly which is impressive. For the lager drinker recommend the pure brew - it's wicked but still very affordable in the credit crunch!

Surprisingly empty when I popped in just before closing on Saturday night, so unfortunately void of atmosphere. But did have cask SS OBB. Oh what I would have given for that ten minutes earlier in The Champion.

Unremarkable is the word that comes to mind when describing this place. Cask OBB on is a positive, but (and I'm not one to go on about toilets in my reviews) the toilets here were pretty awful and it is rather put in the shade compared to its other SS pubs nearby.

Fitzrovia underperforms in pub terms and the Blue Posts (one of two with that name in the vicinity - there used to be three) is as average as average can be. So profoundly unremarkable that it contains not a single noteworthy feature.

A Sam Smith’s pub with Old Brewery Bitter on handpump. But it wasn’t in very good nick, even though it was just about drinkable. A functioning dartboard, being used by a couple of punters when I was in there on Saturday afternoon. The décor doesn’t seem to have changed much since it was my regular haunt during 100 Club pass-outs in the 60s – except for the introduction of the ubiquitous and unwelcome (as far as I am concerned) high stools and tables.

Interesting scene outside, with a crowd of people photographing Banksy’s “Nation Under CCTV” graffito in the Royal Mail car park before its imminent obliteration.
