By mistake we went to the wrong 'Railway' pub.............shocked is just one word for this run down establishment...........with no real ale in sight.......a handful of unfrendly faces...........and a good make over needed......we soon realsied our error and found the righ Railway.........just across the way !!

Starting a pub crawl in Alton, we made the mistake of going to the wrong 'Railway'. This has nothing on its neighbour, with a poor choice of 'beers' and fairly decrepit premises. No wonder it was empty.

Popped in The Railway Hotel again hadn't been in Alton for a while, well they certainly have made some changes the interior has been given a lick of paint (still a few bits to finish as i was informed) but what a difference a cleaner crisp decor. The front looks good with a benched out area. Also told that the landlord and Landlady are getting the kitchen ready soon for a food option. Look forward to my next visit starting to like this pub again.

What a friendly atmosphere - the new landlord seems to have his head screwed on and by the sounds of things has fantastic plans for the place - will definately be using this pub a lot more in the future.

Stopped for a pint after work, normally walk straight past but curious as I heard new people have taken over. Pleasantly suprised! Nice couple and promising for the pub. I'll pop in again.
