| Went in after a meal at the bel and dragon.... A two town pub crawl! An exceptionaly high quota of senior people.... Maybe they do saga discounts. Decent pint. Mappiman - 6 Apr 2011 19:58 |
| unusual amount of red cloth.. disco lights start to flash, even tho there is no dj or dance floor area worth a mention.. could hardly listen to 'Strictly' which was being shown on the tv.. all a bit glitter ball camp really.! :-) was expecting a more trad boozer when looking at it from the outside, but pleasant enough with nice staff n good beer. following earlier comments, can't wait to return at xmas to see what has been done to the place! | A nice bright pub with a traditional atmosphere - you can sit down! Staff seem to understand Hospitality. A rack of newspapers behind the front door - appreciated by anyone on their own and a bit expensive to provide. As I say, hospitable, and good beer. Can't want for more! And the Xmas decorations last year were just amazing. It wasn't Santa's grotto sort of thing. It was a work of art and imagination on someone's part. Has any ceiling ever had more pretty things hanging from it? Congratulations. stephen2 - 23 May 2010 22:03 |
| A very nice pub, surprisingly traditional for it's location, and better than most of them down here TheGP - 4 Mar 2009 08:35 |
| I went int the C & C last night just to see what the decorations were like this year. (Last year they were OTT). Well this year they have surpassed OTT and now V.OTT. Warm friendly welcome as usual , most beers and lagers now all £2.70 a pint. Surprising quiet for the Last Saturday before Xmas (but not a empty as the College Arms opposite, see their comments). If your in the area get down there and see for yourself, you will not be dissapointed. Noticed they have an all inclusive ticket do on New Years Eve. £39 which includes Drink and Buffet from 20:30 to 02:15. (Tickets purchased in advance). Bitter_Man - 21 Dec 2008 12:40 |
