well i went back to this pub and i must say, wasn't as impressed this time. i dont know what has happened to the food - or the chef, but it was awful. It took over 45 mins to arrive and after al that, was cold and didn't taste that great. The pub was full of football fans drinking noisily, pushing and shoving so i must say i didnt enjoy this experience at all. I dont think i would go back again. A shame after being quite impressed the first time but after having such an awful experience, i just dont think id risk it. Mooreish - 28 Mar 2008 15:38
My partner and i have visited this pub on a few occasions and must say, our last visit was fantastic. We wanted to take our parents out for a quiet sunday roast and wanted somewhere that wasn't too commercial, neither did it have screaming kids. We instantly thought of the Henry and i must say, we all had a fantastic time. So much so, we stayed all afternoon! The food was excellent. Real homemade yorkshire puddings (Which my Dad loved!) and the sticky toffee pudding was a great end to a fantastic meal. Although it was quite busy, we found a table quickly but we had to wait a little while for the food. The atmosphere was very cosy and relaxing so it didn't bother us.. The only downside i would say is that the toilets could have done with improving. They were a bit grotty and a bit smelly from the gents. I would have been nice if the fires were lit, however, it was a lovely afternoon and my parents have already asked when we can all visit again. I would certainly recommend this pub for families without children or for those who enjoy a good independent pub with great food and atmosphere. Mooreish - 24 Jan 2008 16:28
I used this website to find a nice place to go whilst staying in Windsor for our Christmas party and tried a few places mentioned in the high street. We had trouble getting a table on Sunday afternoon for lunch but hung around as we loved the ambience of the place and especially christmas decorations and winter pimms. The menu was fantastic (especially the crab cakes) and good value and well worth waiting for all though it was slightly noisy from the football being shown at the opposite end of the bar. We ended up staying another night at the hotel opposite after enjoying a wonderful night of live music with a Irish band. I will be coming back again. Great place KarenHolmes - 16 Dec 2007 22:26
What a pretentious pub. This used to be great. What happened? Over priced but not bad beer. What's all the sofas for. Landlord..THE PLACE ISN'T BIG ENOUGH ! It's now a pub that is trying to be something it's not. The heart and soul has gone from this pub ! alenut - 30 Nov 2007 01:10
not a bad boozer but i get the feeling its the best of a 'ok' lot in the area. Its good, but not great and the service was pretty slow. Tight in there when it gets busy, the bands play in a tight area which is quite frankly in the way so the enjoyment of watching them is not as it could be. That said, its not a bad choice if you want a pint in the week and want to go somewhere that looks nice and is a no brainer. anonymous - 8 Oct 2007 15:19
