A bit soul-less and cold . But I was there on a (very quiet) Thursday night

Atmos ok and beer fine but wish I'd eaten my Sunday Lunch at the Christopher accross the road. 1 slice of leathery beef for me and a mieserly portion of chilli con carne to accompany the huge bowl of rice for my girlfriend. Perhaps they thought we were tourists. Definately taking our next guests somewhere else.

I have been using this pub on and off for the last 8 years. It is very friendly, with a lovely group of people. I have read the other reviews and totally disagree. A lovely pub with live music.

sterile, cold, a place for lager-boys on the pull in cheap cologne to gather before heading into windsor. it's all hair-gel, and lynx.
avoid if you want a drink in a pub, or don't avoid if you've had a bad day, and you need to look down on everyone to cheer yourself up!

Pub with updated decor, probably trying to appeal to tourists but it was pretty empty when we were there on a Saturday lunchtime. Only one cask ale on (Brakspear's Bitter), and while perfectly drinkable it was in below average condition. Pints were served very short, but to be fair, on request were topped up to the brim without question, with the comment that many customers like a big head. (It's annoying when you ask for a top-up of 85% of a pint, and they top it up to 90%).

I see no reason why I would return, but it's not my sort of place - others will no doubt like it a lot more than I did!
