a very nice pub where we were the first Dutch who came to drink beer.
the guest of freedom is very high, the atmosphere is very good and the beer brewed tastes great.

Traditional public bar/lounge set up in a timeless (well more late 60's / early 70's as opposed to timeless) style. A number of ales on to slake the thirst of celebrating Wires fans and to drown the sorrows of visiting 'Udders. The White Rose Saracens IPA was particularly nice. Classic town centre pub as they used to be.

brilliant pub, friendly staff who are happy and proud to be part of this pub, they tell u the history, the plans, the tasting notes...how pubs that are not food orientated ought to be with a nice lounge on one side and a bar on the other.

Always our first stop on a ale crawl of Warrington as it is equidistant between Central and Bank Quay

The Lower Angel is going from strength to strength. As reported elsewhere on this page, there has been a continuation of traditional pub values and service since the new manager took over. Ale quality is excellent, almost always a new beer or three to try and also some returning favourites. Also their new microbrewery is about to open under the name of Tipsy Angel. Well Done Andy, Andy, and Aidan, and all the staff.

The best of a bad bunch on my recent visit to Warrington. Old fashioned pub with traditional public bar and lounge frequented by loyal regulars. Tried the Sunburst from Dark Star which although not really to my liking was indeed well kept. Ales were a bit pricey i thought, still in this day and age.................
