| Proper old-fashioned boozer off the main drag. Big beer garden overlooking the canal which would be lovely in hot weather (it was overcast on our visit so was quiet). Pool table, quiz machine, jukebox, basic seating, no food, pleasant staff so a decent place for catching up with mates for a few pints without being bothered by the Camden crowd with their tight jeans, funny hair cuts and unwashed tshirts. Three ale taps, Broadside was fine, didn't try the IPA and the Camden offering was, erm, off. As others have said, worth a detour as there are precious few decent pubs in the area. | In here at the end of January. Deuchars, Greene King Royal London and Broadside. Basic little pub and not too far from the main Camden area. GuideDogSaint - 3 Apr 2011 22:35 |
| Nice no frills boozer. Had a decent pint of Deuchars whilst the locals played pool and Blondie wafted through the air. Miles better that the shitheaps on and around Camden High Street. Should you find yourself going to camden for a gig etc you could do a lot worse than take a detour here to have a few drinks first. DoctorFunk - 18 Nov 2010 09:19 |
| Visited on a Friday night. Great garden, fantastic pint of Broadside. Not so sure about the 'one big room' layout of the place, full of people shouting at each other at 8pm, the lighting was too bright for my liking, and the music was a bit loud and a bit of an odd mix, although again, that's a personal taste thing. Don't think my wife was very impressed by the stripper that appeared for what I guess was a stag do, particularly when she got her tits out in the main bar. Don't think I'd bother going back, except maybe on a nice day to sit in the garden. dead_celeb - 7 Nov 2010 23:10 |
| ...this is one of my favourite pubs in N London - good ales and feels like a proper community boozer which is getting rarer and rarer to find. Top Top Top innadequate - 3 Sep 2010 13:50 |
