After an abortive attempt to get into the Guinea (packed to the rafters), I came in here. Mainly seduced by its architecture. Nothing wrong with the place. Mappiman - 12 Jan 2012 19:24
Fantastic and very well run little pub just off Bond street, lovely staff, good food at amazing prices for this part of town, good mix of suits, tourists and oddballs, can get mobbed on a Friday evening but otherwise a great Pub. jackbar - 4 Jan 2012 16:31
What an excellent and popular little pub. The Belgian family with their four children who sat next to us also thought so too. Very friendly staff, the Adnams Spiced Ale and the shared seafood platter was excellent. Terrific value for money and unlike the famous 'Pie pub' around the corner which was closed (for Christmas?) this place was deservedly popular. We'd come again! Paul_Rochdale - 2 Jan 2011 20:53
A strange mock Tudor decor wedge of a building that you don’t get the full effect of if you are walking to it from either direction along Bruton Street on the same side of the road. SO it is actually worth the extra effort to step over to the other side and get the view from there. The upstairs area was being laid out for a private function at the time of my visit, which meant the ground floor bar area was busy and consequently quite noisy. Fourhand pumps supported which had the usual suspects of Fullers Pride, TT Landlord and Youngs Ordinary. But then the forth was dispensing O’Hanlon’s Goldblade which, as I didn’t bother read the small print on the pump clip, I didn’t realise until after ordering is a wheat beer. Made a pleasant change as did this strange different to the run of the mill pub. Gann - 25 Jul 2010 12:12
We'd spent a while looking for a good value pub lunch and I already knew where this place was but had never been in, remembering where it was, wasn't a problem as its such a memorable buuilding! The ground floor has the main bar and a few tables to the side (not sure if they were for eating) The first floor is a small dinning area with a TV, great for watching the world cup! and a small bar! We opened the menu and saw that there was a great selection of sandwhiches, burgers and other meals all at great prices! All three of us had burgers two having plain (£7) and I had the Cheese and Bacon (£8.50), although you only get one slice of bacon the burgers were really juicy and tasty, coming with chips and a great BBQ sauce! Didnt really look at the drinks but for largers they have Fosters and Kronenbourg! In total the bill came to £33 working out as £11 p/h head including 4 largers. which is great, and rarely heard of within Mayfair! We walking in during lunch and it was quite busy by the bar, once people had gone back to work it had slowed down abit and was a really nice place to be right in the heart of town! For the pricing, quality and atmosphere I will be returning to this pub again and again! SamDMan - 18 Jun 2010 18:38
