Is now called The White Swan. Pool table in the front bar with a few old men sitting round the edge (Sat afternoon). Didn't explore the rest of the pub but seemed to have a large back room and beer garden. The do serve real ales and the Spitfire was good. It seemed a really nice old-fashioned sort of pub and is a welcome alternative to the crappy places on nearby Broad Street. It's right in the middle of a lot of city apartments so probably does well out of residents. thegiant - 16 Jun 2008 11:49
Now does cask ale's, quite an odd little pub, names being changed back to the white swan soon. i shall be visiting again wl4164 - 15 Feb 2007 18:07
Went here for the first time yesterday. Strange layout with pool tables in both rooms. Decor quite light and cheery. 3 cask ales on offer. davver - 9 Jan 2007 10:58
The pub used to do real ale at one stage. A pity. Uncle_Dunkel - 24 Feb 2006 15:16
A Good Beer Guide Entry, but this pub does not match up to the specifications. Although the pub continued to advertise the availability of cask condition ale, none is available. I was offered KEG Tetley and, having failed to obtain an explanation as to why pump clips for three cask ales were still being displayed falsely, I left the pub. Camera should be notified that real ale is not a priority in Darwin's. Dave Harley - hornydave_harley@hotmail.com - 30 Dec 2003 14:08
