This pub used to be ok a couple of years back and was actually quite lively. Nowdays however, even though the owners are friendly the pub is completely dead. I met a mate in there for 1 drink the other week and we were literally the only 2 people in there. Even the barman disapeared. The only person your likely to see in there is a portly gentleman who has a burger van parked out back sitting at the bar occasionally breaking wind.....avoid! ! ! !

Locals pub on the main road between Richmond and Kingston, close to the Ham Gate entrance to Richmond Park. Its a pleasant enough pub in a slightly old fashioned basic sort of way. Not a great pub for real ale drinkers - a solitary handpump serves Bombardier at £ 2.70p - and I was virtually the only customer drinking it.

Used to do Thai Food a number of years ago, but has changed hands since.

No sign of any chavs yesterday ( Sunday ) during my lunchtime visit

Being a local i have visited this pub a few times in the past, but due to the demise of the Hand and Flower this has become my hometown drinking den. Overall a decent enough pub, good selection of beers and good bar staff that actually remember your last round! Definitely a locals pub due to the location, but always friendly. Idiots are not tolerated so never any trouble!

They show all the premiership games and have a bigscreen available.

Had excellent restaurant-quality meal a couple of evenings ago. Although at £45 for two, you would certainly expect something well beyond regular (gastro)pub fare.

On the downside, the restaurant was devoid of atmosphere, with a sprinkling of diners. However, it was mid-week, and doubtless things pick up towards weekend.

Overall, the pub is a mismatch of leftover customers from the Hand & Flower days, and others looking for an upscale pub experience. Pub style/theme is also a challenging - cricketing paraphernalia meets faux Louise XIV, with a fabulous inglenook log-fire as the centrepiece. Weird!
