| I've seen a few changes to this place over the years and its now definitely a restaurant. The bar is really only for residents of the hotel part or for diners enjoying a pre-meal drink. Go in with six mates for a session and I'm sure that the response will be polite but firm. A bit of a shame as the beer is superb and comes from a micro brewery just down the road (Bays). Given that the emphasis is on dining you would expect high quality for both food and service and you wouldn't be dissappointed.
