Reasonable selection of beer, quiet clientele (though no-one under 60), lots of newspapers and several satisfied drinkers. Didn't try the food btu will do next time I'm passing.

A real gem! As mentioned in previous reviews, 8 real ales to choose from and, on my recent visit, Dark Star Hophead was on offer and in excellent form. The ambience of the place is warm and relaxed with a good mix of clientele. Definitely worth a visit when in town.

Cheers!

Pretty quiet when we called in....pity my brother hadn't read the step notice!!

Hadnt been in here for a few years and was impressed with the changes made. Bright and airy with plenty of choice from a full range of real ales and single malts. The "mind the step" notice is on the wrong side of the toilet door however and I for one tripped up on a couple of occasions when exiting the Gents. Be warned.

Place is ace for a quiet pint. Always pretty busy when I've been in but no bother getting served.

Kind of place you can take your girl.

Ale is top notch.
