Well laid-out, spacious pub with a great deal of potential, especially given its location. It's not city centre, but it's within easy reach of the station and is close to the Village and the Malmesbury and an affluent residential area. However - we went in at 8pm on a Tuesday evening and we were the only 2 customers in there. The barmaid was charming and very pleasant to talk to, but the beer wasn't at its best. I had a pint of Courage Best which tasted fine but was unusually cloudy. Maybe the competition from the other nearby pubs, including the Village and Deacons, is just too much. Worth trying out every now and again, though, especially if you're on a crawl or looking for a quiet pint. ETA - 23 Sep 2009 07:00
Very nice interior and even nicer beer garden, quite a dull pint of doombar though. What u want is this pub's layout along with the nearby Village Freehouse's beer selection!! 7/10 fat_beer_badger - 21 Sep 2009 11:12

Unless you want the most boring time of your life, do not go in to this pub. Was great alternative pub 4 to 5 years ago with great jukebox and when birds flashed their t**s on a tuesday. The only bird you get now is an annoying parrot. Doby - 14 Jan 2007 16:30
Decent jukebox. Much improved but located on the edge of the city so easily overlooked. Strangely, attracts a good number of single, available girls. pub_critic - 7 Mar 2005 00:09
