Paid a visit on two consecutive nights had Marstons both nights a well kept pint. A multi roomed pub with several rooms off. We sat in the main room low ceiling original beams a real fire but was not on. Seating was a bit uncomfortable unless you could get in the big comfy armchair near the fire.
Did not eat here but several of people were ordering food or had eaten so it must be popular.
Nice ale recomended

Lovely olde worlde pub with small windows & low beams. Dark woods & a maze of interesting rooms give the whole place a cosy, Dickensian feel. Small beer terrace at the front. I think there were about 4 handpumps with Marston's EPA & a couple of other interesting looking ales.

Multi-roomed splendour (albeit modernised), and very good Marstons range.

We found The Old Sun atmosphere pretty average. The range of ales was large, but the condition was only just acceptable and the price was high.
My Wife's cajun chicken was OK, but my 'light bite' beef steak was about 5mm thick, so any attempt to cook it other than well done was doomed to failure.

Good choice of ales, food was excellent. As others have said everything somewhat on the expensive side.
