Not the greatest Wetherspoons, with limited real ale, although that perhaps reflects the clientele who seem more lager orientated. Beer was OK and cheap, but nothing special. Dylanwing - 4 Aug 2008 19:57
Located opposite of Griffin so you have 2 options if one is over crowded. A Wetherspoon's pub. Good food, and ales OK and cheap (around 2 pounds a pint). hgr - 5 Sep 2007 17:42
t's ok, heaving in summer with the wannabee surfer crowd getting paralytic on relatively cheap beer - - in winter is it empty and cavernous with a decent selction of seating and the chance for a game of pool. Sorrowful - 18 Jun 2007 15:14
i visit the towan blystra last thursday while on holiday and it has to be one of the worst wetherspoons i had visited!i went to the bar to order a pint of skinners moonshine which i was told was off as they were cleaning the pipes!i then asked for a pint of exmoor 25th anniversary ale it was far to cold and the taste was not good at all!i then asked for a menu but they imformed me that they had run out of food on a thursday afternoon!and to top it off i order a coke for my girlfriend and when the barmaid came back she said sorry it off!a complete joke and a waste of time.i think they should take a leaf out of the book of the wetherspoons in truro which is great for food and real ale. arch11 - 18 Jun 2007 14:39
This is a nice place for a good meal, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I never noticed much of a problem of rowdiness, although I was not there in the summer. The slection is varied, and it has a bit more character than some in the chain. MajorBuck - 16 Oct 2006 06:03
