I visited this pub last week (23rd June 2011) and had a great time! It was an acoustic open mic night with some interesting musicians. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, I felt at home instantly. I was informed that it is under new management having recently been ruined by a weird bistro experiment that unsurprisingly failed. I didn't study the décor I am afraid, but it was all clean and new looking, I remember that much, even the gents toilets! Staff were fantastic, the other customers were open and friendly. I will definitely visit again! Yevad - 30 Jun 2011 00:33
New owners who have revamped and redecorated the place entirely. They appear to be very new to the game, a bit over anxious to please and hope to rely very heavily on their restaurant trade. A complete change to the old Foresters including the clientele and I hope they succeed. We will certainly be visiting again (as it's very handy on the way home). Wheel154 - 16 Jun 2010 11:31
Very disapointing pub. Real Ale was very cold. Shame as the pub has great potential. Huey - 21 Aug 2009 11:54
Relaxed, slightly scruffy round the edges place - but I like pubs like that so it's not a criticism. Feels like a locals bar but not in a cliquey way. chick - 26 Jan 2009 14:24
A better showing with two Shalford Essex Ales available. Hyde and Stoneley Bitter were available together with Suffolk County and Forresters Ale. Still sparklers on with tight swan necks, however the beer quality was much improved from the last visit. Love_good_ale - 15 Jun 2008 04:39
