I agree with previous comments. I usually use the Mad Bishop when in Paddington but it was closed for a refurb. Thought I'm try this place but what a mistake
paying £3.90 for a pint of Deuchars. I also tried the house beer from Caledonian which wasn't any good. Food was also a rip-off with a very poor quality (cheap ham) sandwich for £6. Best going to Marks and Spencer instead!

went in before the rl challenge cup final at wembley late morning.i order a house beer my friend order a pint of wells bomb. £7-80 for the two pints both were almost undrinkable. their were flat and no taste. my friend has been in a couple times before and told me it was great ale. perhaps we were just unlucky that day

Didn't realize that it was under new management. Wondering if they still do the enormous plate of fish and chips with the ridiculously large fish. Staff were a hoot and the lanlord brilliant. Lots of Chelsea boys in there on some saturdays but all with a good attitude win or lose. Will have to check it out. Thought the beer was fine but obviously as expensive as your average London pub.

I got stuck in London when they closed Heathrow due to terrorist scare. By the way, when being evacuated from airport, there was a local police officer that roughly pushed me against the wall because I was taking pictures while filing out of the terminal (like many at the time) of a situation I have never been in before. I am not sure why he singled me out as I do not fit any profiles that may have raised suspicion. He threatened to confiscate my camera if I didn't erase everything, including my travel pictures, and was a total dick about it. This was my first impression of the "polite and formal" British.
Aside from this rant, the Pride of Paddington was what I expected from a London pub near the train station. Nothing too good, nothing too bad. I bought a t-shirt (touristy thing to do), and now I have been told that this is a gay pub from someone that saw me wearing the shirt! I don't really care, but it didn't seem gay. Does anyone know? It is difficult to tell gay English from straight English as they are very effeminate.
