| OK chain pub, v busy when i visited after a gig at the empire; much more characterful places a few hundred yards away down the Goldhawk Road mozzzzzz - 12 Oct 2011 18:32 |
| Didn't know, until I read it on here, that it was an ex- Spoons but it looks and feels exactly like one! Standard selection of ales at £2.80, which I guess is reasonable for the area. Very loud background music. Won't rush back. cheshirecat - 28 Jun 2009 12:22 |
| Real ale is surprisingly good and cheap. Not tried the food, seems standard Wetherspoons-type stuff. The atmosphere can get a bit larey when there's an important game on and I could do without the screens. The staff appear friendly and efficient. strick - 12 Apr 2009 15:21 |
| As mentioned before this place has a Wetherspoons feel to it from the cheap drinks and food to the curry nights, and whilst I was there, the stretched staff. Why on earth the management would expect one person to be barman, potman and waiter is beyond me. Pride, Bombadier, Adnams and some nice Brains SA were available along with standard lagers during my visit. I’d not go out of my way to drink here, but I’ve been in far worse pubs than this one. | Not a bad pub at the cheaper end of the market but gets busy when QPR are at home, even so the staff were on the ball (sorry for the pun) even if they were trying to serve while watching the game. Beers are well kept - this weekend saw London Pride, Bass, GK IPA and Bombardier. The food is OK and possibly a tad cheaper than 'spoons. BobOs - 22 Feb 2009 18:12 |
