The most atmospheric pub in Hebden Bridge. Good selection of real ales. Always very friendly.

Good and varied range of real ales on offer at reasonable prices (if you're a CAMRA member, show your card for 20p a pint off). The decor - minimalist, modern, and a bit clinical - may not be to everyone's taste but the quality of beer amply compensates for the lack of 'pub atmosphere'

Beer still good, however the manager that was interested in talking about the beer doesnt seem to be there any more. Showcasing 3 Wadworth beers and the Pictish Gold still on form, £2.50 one of the cheapest in town. This cannot be said for the food as mentioned, try the bowl of chips (I think we counted eight chunky delicious chips) for £3. Is the Beef and Horseradish sandwich really £9.95? The deals are cheaper, soup and sandwich at lunch £5.95 but don't expect to be full. The soup bowl was probably 1 inch deep. Early bird pre 7pm for starter and main is the best bet (£14 I think). Very good quality but definately no quantity..

The beer is great but they have totally lost the plot on the food. Horrendously over priced, beefburger £13.95, rib eye steak £19.95 and you can not eat these in the restaurant, that menu is even dearer. I actually saw one couple moved out of the empty restaurant when they fancied something off of the bar menu. Simon you are sitting on a gold mine if only you knew it. In the location you are in you should be cleaning up in Hebden Bridge.

Good well-kept ales from local micros. Modern, minamalist interior and friendly service. Unfortunalelty, minamalist also describes the food - my shepherd's pie(£9.95) was tiny with no veg etc, more of a snack than a main meal. So, worth popping in for a drink but eat elsewhere.
