I have been going to this pub for over 9 years and can honestly say that it is a wonderful pub! the management has changed a few times but always remained a very cosy pub where you can go meet friends and have a laugh. The staff are always friendly and polite and the value for money for the food is great. if you are ever in the shenfield area and want a place to wind down then just go through the doors where you are sure to have a warm welcome.

Havnt been in there recently but the last time I think the new owners must have only just taken over as the young people behind the bar didnt have a clue. There used to be a lovely and very efficient lady behind the bar, she may have been the landlady, her name is Stella. If she is still there hope she teaches the rest how to serve their customers. Used to have well kept beers including Adnams, always a good pint. Cant comment now though.

Sunday lunch always looks good - but there are never enough tables available - so book ahead! The inside is small and cosy; the outside tables are unfortunately located on the main road.

Heard rumour last night that current owners are selling up after 12 years - expect changes.
