| Called into this pub on friday with my wife and 2 16yr olds. Nice friendly welcome in a charming village pub. Ordered meals which came quickly, well presented 2 steak pie, scampi along with beef curry in very large portions with real chips to share, which we could not manage but tried! Greedily we indulged in sweets, including 2 real ales for myself, cokes and coffee, it came to a mere �46! How goods that! | The Lowther Arms is a pub in the tiny village of Mawbury. The pub comprises of a nice rustic lounge to the front, a large games room to the right and more modern conservatory cum dining area at the rear. The bar serves a couple of ever changing local guest ales � Hawkshead Bitter and IPA were on during my visit, both of which were very nice. The pub is sign-posted off the B5300 Maryport to Silloth road, so next time you are passing why not stop-off at Mawbury and pop in for a quick pint!! DoctorBarfly - 4 Sep 2009 20:19 |
