| - first impression this is an ex stones brewery pub, on the A61 penistone road not far from the Hillsborough football ground. It is a smallish, traditional, fairly modern looking place. There is a small car parking area, covered smokers area at the rear. A few tables outside front. *** Inside there is a large central lounge bar leading down into a tap room area with pool table. The other end is split-level, leading up into an adjoining smaller dining area. The place is clean and smart with no damage. The toilets were smart, clean, and colourfully tiled ! *** The menu has a good range of starters mains and deserts,, with mains at �5-6 and grills at �6-7, lighter snacks �2-5. There are no cask ales on. Keg J.Smiths at �2.45. *** verdict: Nice enough place, but I prefer old english style and real ale. a 5 from me. reynard - 19 Feb 2009 13:55 |
