Situated in the Hillsborough barracks complex, and accessed via the A61/penistone road. Opened in 2001, it was converted from what used to be the Grade II listed jail, guardhouse and ammunition building. It consists of 43 en-suite rooms, two conference suites, a larger function suite, and the Jailhouse bar & restaurant.

Inside, the Jailhouse bar and resturant is clean, smart, and comfortably done out with soft seating. Many of the original features have been retained throughout.

The kitchen is open seven days a week serving a wide range of meals. Fairly reasonable prices. There is currently a promotion on for 2 evening main meals. Two-for-£8, Monday-Thursday, (6-9pm).
There are no cask ales currently offered.

Very pleasant and comfortable place. Nice food if you're willing to pay a little over the odds for the area. Also very handy for where I work. Can get busy lunch times,
A bit disappointing with no cask ales. So a 6 from me.
