i went to this bar and it is very trendy,( not like the picture above ) also prices are resonable cheaper than other bars in kentish town and the entertainment was very good and the party venue downstairs is top, needs to be seen, i also went there for new years eve wow it was wonderful night and well managed

This bar's previous incarnation, Auntie Annie's, was neither brilliant nor the best pub in Kentish Town (FFS!) but was a total dump - and it was the worst eyesore on Kentish Town Road too (no mean feat that). The makeover was long overdue and even though it now won't be to everyone's taste (including mine) it's certainly an improvement. I like the description below of it being like Liberace's head while he's having a nightmare (LOL!) which does give you an idea of what it's like. It's trying to look classy but it's really just kitcsch - it's worth a visit just to have a laugh at it. I've only even been in there to watch football, and it's fine for that - can't think of any other reason to go there.

this place was a brilliant Irish bar until the refurb...now its something akin to being inside Liberaces head whilst he's having a nightmare..not good

I'd have to agree with Steve - the interior of this place is shocking.
There were 3 young bar staff working there when I last visited and they seemed miffed every time we ordered a round of draught pints - instead of their (overpriced) cocktails.
Was a mixed group of about 8 of us - everyone seemed to get the same attitude whether you were getting a wine, G&T or pint.
Eventually they seemed to tire of us and put on a CD of high-energy techno, and turned it up so that no-one in the pub could talk without shouting.
This made our group leave - and similarly 2 other groups of mixed/middle aged people who'd been having a pint and a chat. Evidently they preferred their own company to our cash.
It's such a shame, because in it's previous incarnation as Auntie Annie's this was, without doubt, the best pub in Kentish Town.
