| ... though having said which, I dropped in again a week or so back for a couple of pints of Warmer, and found that since my last visit (some time ago), it seemed to have drifted back, slightly but perceptibly, to the more relaxed and 'publike' atmosphere it used to have in the good old days. | Fantastic place, it used to be a bit of a dive, but someone new is deffinatly in charge and you can tell. The atmosphere is so welcoming now, and all the staff are lovely. They have a great selection of beers and wines, the barman recomended an adlestones cider to me, which blew me away. Dinner was great too, i had a perfectly cooked steak, which i wished would never end, and for reasonable a price aswell. | Busy pub for a lunchtime visit. It seemed to cater more for food than drinking. A pint of Youngs Bitter was well presented. Only one of the bar staff was efficient, the others appeared to be much less so! jbsjazzer - 11 Feb 2011 15:08 |
| Despite it being the busy Christmas season the place was almost deserted. The staff looked like they didn't want to be there. I don't blame them, working in a large, soulless pub such as this would be bad enough at the best of times, let alone when its empty. Superlative pints of Winter Warmer did little to raise my enjoyment of the place. A shame, because there is little else in the vicinity of Wandsworth Common. Misk. - 29 Dec 2010 17:33 |
