Full of loud shell suited chavs spoiling for a fight. Not what you would expect in Great Missenden, Until these oinks are permanently ejected and the place moved up market this pub will be doomed to failure. I did not even try the beer;I went in one door and out the other. How many customers have been frightened away? pedantnic - 31 May 2011 01:38 |
What a sad place, looked unloved, and in desperate need for some smartening up and warmth put in to it. The beer was fine, the staff tried, but the place lacked charm. It has the potential to be a very good pub and restaurant, lots of old English pub beams and fires, but it just does not work at present. Randyray - 3 May 2011 18:00
I like this pub with it's cosy atmosphere & fire. The beers on were Purity Mad Goose, Sharps Doombar, and Sharps Cornish Stout - the latter was in good nick & 3 pints were £9.30. Interesting decently priced beer so 7/10. Booze_Allen - 8 Jan 2011 15:00
Quite a nice pub with atmosphere. Hard to park, double yellow lines and could not use the pubs small car park as a police van was blocking the entrance! Looks an interesting pub, spoiled slightly by a gaming machine near the bar. Service good and friendly. davidfthorn - 21 Sep 2010 09:42
This has now re-opened and they are selling Chiltern Ales - Beechwood etc. This could be a great pub, it has lots of multi-level nooks and crannies in which to enjoy your pint. It needs to get back the long lost support of the locals before a good atmosphere returns. Give it a try for the ale alone. pedantnic - 14 Feb 2010 15:11
