user reviews of the Cricketers, Swindon

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This has always been a friendly pub. A lot of Glue Pot regulars use The Cricketers as well.

The food has always been really good value.

Unfortunately, it will be changing hands on Sunday 27th July, so I think everything is winding down. I like Tony, the existing landlord, I'm not sure I will be visiting it when he's gone.

It's a shame really.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say Tony will be missed.

Perfectly good, part-modernised, pub with a selection of 4 real ales (including the Brains Rev. James which was very good). Not as good as the Glue Pot, but 10 times better than the Baker's Arms.

Been here a few times. A nice pub, which seems to have taken over from the Glue Pot as the locals' Local. Got the impression that it's not fully found its feet yet, and can develop further, so something good to look forward to there.

This place has seen some changes over the years. In my drinking lifetime it has been, to my knowledge, a bikers pub, an Irish pub, a gay bar, and closed down for quite a while in between.
It's now a PUB. 2 or 3 real ales, nothing fancy but welcome nonetheless, pool table in a seperate room, Sunday raffle and buffet.
Not a bad little pub in Swindon's Railway village.
