Visited on 31/10 to avoid the trick or treaters at home... Delightful cosy and friendly atmosphere. Staff were friendly. No clicky local types dominating the bar - can't wait to visit again! adgi - 3 Nov 2011 18:49
this pub has it all! firstly the ale, the IPA is as good as the best i have tasted. i asked the barman about the hardy & hansons (3.9 abv), it's a tasty brew originally brewed in nottinghamshire & now produced under the auspices of greene king, also a fine pint. l reccomend this ale house for its well kept beer, friendly, welcoming barman & locals, clean, fresh appearance & splendid log fire. keep up the good ambiance & please stay open on sundays after 4pm - ill be passing through again! jollyfella - 23 Nov 2010 11:49
Recently taken over by new landlord/landlady, but still preserving the cosy village pub atmosphere. Greene King IPA and Abbot served. New tenants are keen to maintain the traditional nature of the pub but will probably do some upgrading in time. Currently there are no plans to serve food, but this might change as the new management settles in. welwyntone - 13 Oct 2009 17:06
some old boys playing cards every session , good well kept beers , jovial landlord , this pub is one of a fast disappearing breed , no food just a classic atmosprere lancer - 12 May 2009 00:21
The plough is a tiny little village pub exactly how you would wish pubs were still these days. Very pleasant & friendly landlord and regulars. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit recently where we sat in the little bay window for an hour surveying the whole of this one street chocolate box village. Toilets are clean if needing updated , and the whole pub could do with a lick of paint, but if I were to choose between this fab pub as it is, or a clinical chain pub, the plough at datchworth would win hands down. jessionlocation - 22 Mar 2009 18:17
