| Long standing Landlady Joan Houghton has now reached 65 and they will not let her carry on - she is now at The Wheatsheaf (Old Isaacs). The Pendle seems to be attracting a more boisterous crowd, and the ale quality is not what it was. trapperjohn - 15 May 2008 13:15 |
| Small, cosy and serves excellent ales, my favorites being their own Moorhouses Black Cat, Pride of Pendle and Pendle Witches Brew. If you can't get into the January Bent and Bongs Beer Bash due to overcrowding, I advise going over to this pub for just as good a time... followed by a shortish walk to the Far Pavillion Indian near the train station for a dam good Vindaloo and Peshwari! | Pleasant and upmarket; beer average at best. mtaylor40 - 12 Jul 2007 21:38 |
| Now reopened after major refurbishment. A very pleasant place to drink, with superb real ale. trapperjohn - 12 Jul 2007 13:10 |
| The best pub in Atherton by far. Although a Moorhouses Pub, regular guest ales available, especially during their Annual Beer Festival. Undergoing refurbishment and extension in time for the Smoking Ban. trapperjohn - 14 May 2007 12:51 |
