Serving more or less the full Moorhouses range of ales, the Pendle Witch is a cosy enough place, although i did get the impression of it being a local's local if you know what i mean. Drank a Blonde Witch and one of the guest beers, both well kept and reasonably priced.

Worth a visit if you find yourself in the Atherton area.

Not been in here for ages but always a very good Moorhouses variety served. Usually bursting at the seems come the bent and bongs beer bash. I personally like it more before it had its upmarket refurbishment, I thought it had more character then. Still worth a visit though

Friendly one-roomed pub that used to be two cottages. Long regarded as the best boozer in Atherton and for good reason-stocks the whole Moorhouses range, always on top form. Pool table and a mixed clientele, and extremely friendly staff. Hidden away down a ginnel off the main drag, but hardly a secret. Recommended.

Long standing Landlady Joan Houghton has now reached 65 and they will not let her carry on - she is now at The Wheatsheaf (Old Isaacs). The Pendle seems to be attracting a more boisterous crowd, and the ale quality is not what it was.
