Seems a nice enough place, old Truman pub which apart from the holey leather sofas and Roman blinds, hasn’t been messed about too much.
Beer was rather ordinary, Pride and Broadside on, but my pint was rather cloudy and watery, overall could be a good pub if they sorted the beer out.

The Alice, as it is affectionately known, has become my local. The owners and staff are friendly, the duke box has it all, there's a pool table, darts and a quiz machine. They're now having a push on food, which from what i've tasted is going well. The chairs are comfy - big leather sofas too - and the crowd are welcoming. There are sometimes beer troubles, but they've Flowers IPA on the handle at the mo, and it tastes good. I love the place.

Well .. I've walked past this pub a few times and from the outside it always looks empty but really nice inside, we went in .. 12 of us and they'd actually run out of beer! .. just bottles, that was it! How ridiculous!!

On the basis of our visit last night, this is an excellent pub with one major problem.
It's clean, roomy and tidy with plush leather sofas, a pool table and a generally pleasing ambience. The problem, however, comes when you surevey the bar only to see tap after tap dispensing only lager and cider. There are two Guinness dispensers but the only two handpumps (london Pride and a guest beer) are in forlorn disuse.

It provided a very depressing sight as we settled for ciders and Guinness whilst awaiting the rest of our party to arrive. We would have gladly spent the whole evening in there but in the event, we left after one drink for the Ale-friendly nearby hostelries: The Golden Heart and The Gun.

Great pub - shame about the beer, or was this only an aberration?
