| I remember going to this pub a few years back and it was a great traditional pub with good beer and great Service. I suggested going her for a few drinks after work with some work colleagues. About 12 of us arrived and made ourselves comfortable. The general consensus was that the service was lousy. The girls behind the bar were scruffy, they had no interest in serving the customer with a smile. The beer never topped the edge of the pint glass and each round we had to ask them to top our pints up. A very disappointing evening and a shame because this pub could be a gold mine. | The good: Model spitfire handing from the roof. Pinball machine The bad: Persistent attempted overcharging by a fake northern guy in a flat cap. Toilet smell throughout pub. Pinball machine located in middle of walkway. There are *many* quality boozers within a 5 minute walk. Unless they pull their socks up, there airnt nothing to disctract us form the PA. | What a great cosy pub! Shame the staff are too cool for school and can't manage even a half smile despite my extra attempts at politeness. But still place to hang out. e1_reindeer - 6 Feb 2011 21:42 |
| Went there a few months ago during a "Jack The Ripper" inspired walk around Whitechapel and Spitalfields - an interesing place - looked shut from the outside but was nicely laid out and interesting decor inside - dead though - 3 or 4 people in there - the main section being quite a large room - nice enough but prob better fri/sat night when full up! adamwalsh - 5 Jun 2010 21:56 |
