I didn’t notice if the barman served me slops, but like most of the other customers I was so pissed that I wouldn’t have noticed anyway. A slaughtered German bird tried to give me her purse so that I could go to the bar and order as she couldn’t stand up, let alone speak English. Obviously I made my excuses and left (without the purse), but I got the feeling that the transient nature of this pub allows people to let their hair down a little too much as they, like me, will probably never return.

Pride, Old Speckled Hen, IPA and Bombardier were all available along with standard and premium lagers.

I actually found the barman to be very pleasant, but if I had caught him fobbing me off with some slops I would have gone ballistic. Next time I am down I will pop in to see this for myself.

WARNING THIS PUB SERVES THE DREGS FROM THE DRIP MATS!

Went here last night for a quick drink with a few friends. I thought it was handy being close to the station. However, waiting at the bar I observed the barman emptying the dripmats (which were full of beer slops) into empty pint glasses. He had 3 pint glasses quarter full of dregs which he topped up with beer and served to customers. I could not believe my eyes. He was not discreet either as if it was the most normal thing to do.

Everything else about the pub was ok i suppose but I think you are taking a big risk with your health if you drink or eat here.

Somewhat surprised at some of the negative reviews. Dropped in here on the way home during the week and was pleasantly surprised particularly given the pub's proximity to Victoria. Pub was reasonably busy but not unpleasantly so. The interior was warm and welcoming helped by the leather benches around some of the walls and the orange lightshades.

Given the some of the dreadful places around and inside Victoria I have to say the Duke of York is a pretty decent place to meet someone for a few drinks before getting on the train.

I went in here last night (waiting for the train from Victoria)
I ordered pint of speckled hen in front of the pumps , took it to a spot that was free at the SIDE of the pumps and witnessed every beer drinkers nightmare .....
Selling SLOPS to the public , I ordered an IPA , didnt get the slops , but witnessed at first hand the glasses of slops filling up and being served to the unlucky punters

PLEASE be AWARE of this pub.........go to the side and order your ales and BEWARE of half filled glasses behind beer pumps !!!!!

Worst meal of my life, ordered couscous with roasted vegetables topped with goats cheese, what arrived was half a tea cup of plain couscous without even salt with 1 floret of boiled cauliflower, a small spoon of peas and a couple of thin slices of goats cheese all separate on the side, the funniest plate of food I've ever seen, Was almost worth £9 for the story. Having said all that its ok if you just want a quick beer.
