Could do with more ales. Only had London Pride on tap, the other choice was off. ixion - 19 Nov 2007 13:12
I have been a regular in this pub for the past 6 years and it has had its up and down (just like any other pub I'm sure) but on the bigger picture, I find the pub lovely. Noreen and Aidan are wonderful people who always make everyone feel so welcome when they step through the front door. They're currently having a patio built out back which will be good for us smokers when the weather gets even colder, especially with the nice view of the canal and the boats. Noreen is back in charge of the kitchen and is improving her menu all the time. The food is excellent and I definately encourage people to have the steaks or the lamb shank are they are superb. I have always loved the atmosphere and will continue to return, almost daily, in the future. Keep up the excellent work. anonymous - 11 Nov 2007 18:59

Noreen and Aiden have done a fantastic job with the General Elliot, refurbishing the bar over the past year. There´s always a cheery welcome and the standards of both service and cleanliness are excellent. Aiden is one of lifes true gentlemen, and his wife Noreen is truly at the top of her field. The atmosphere in here is always fun and the food of the highest standard. I will certainly be returning (probably daily). Keep up the great work. anonymous - 18 May 2007 14:21
I WENT TO THIS PUB TODAY WITH MY WIFE, NICE PUB WITH LOTS OF CHARACTER FOR A TYPICALLY ENGLISH PUB THE FOOD IS WIERD, THEY ONLY SERVE TAPPAS AT £2 EACH I PAID £2 FOR A TINY BOWL OF CURRY MADE FROM LEFTOVER PRE COOKED CHICKEN AND THEN PAID £2 FOR A SMALL BOWL OF RICE! MY WIFE HAD A SPAG BOL WHICH SHE SAID WAS GOOD. THE KARAOKE SIGN IS UP BUT THEY DON`T HAVE IT! I`LL GIVE THE FOOD A MISS HERE IN FUTURE WOULD GO AGAIN FOR A BEER AND KARAOKE IF IT STARTS AGAIN. miketheglass - 23 Sep 2006 16:58
