I visited in April 2006, for a quick couple of halves including a seasonal beer. Was enjoyable; the pub was fine. All the locals (presumably from Acton and environs) seemed friendly enough, and although Acton is a 30-minute Silverlink journey away from me I would have no qualms about revisiting if invited by a friend, etc. Atmosphere, friendliness and beer quality (Fullers acknowledged) earns the pub an 8/10. lad_newton - 16 Oct 2006 09:56
If you have to go to Acton and stand the gun crime and "homies" with hoodies peering at you, then take cover here. The staff are friendly and the customers have a nice welcoming rapore. The decore is abit shabby (come on fullers put some money into your pubs) but the quality of the beer and the atmosphere is good. The food has gone down hill though since thier old chef left, so dont eat there, but it does show a good game of football and other sport too. Also is one of the few places around to have a function room that is good for p[arties and cheap too! my rating, 6 out of 10 thats because Acton is a hole, if it were in a diffent place it could push a 7.5! anonymous - 15 Oct 2006 14:09
The best Sunday Roast in West London, don't be put off by the 5.95 price tag... The Polish chef is outstanding... Thick cuts of meat, sesame seed honey roasted parsnips, crunchy veg, Huge Yorkshires and great size portions.... apparently they only serve around 10 on a sunday, I reckon thats because no one knows about this Gem of a roast...! the pub itself is on acton high street so chiswick it's not, but then I'd prefer to dine with these lot then some pompous chiswolians.... If thats such a word. howeeb - 16 Jul 2006 12:54
The best pub in Acton. If you are after the closest thing to a traditional english pub this is the best you are gonna get. Does a decent pint, but is a bit pricey, but a lot nicer atmosphere than the nearby Redback or Puzzle and without the dregs of the local spooners pedwjk - 28 Dec 2005 16:49
