user reviews of the Grosvenor, Westminster

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

We've just had a Christmas party in this pub and it was a blast. The landlord Paul (and his staff) could not do enough for us. The food was great; the drink was great; the atmosphere was great; and only the grate wasn't real - it was a gas fire.

Thoroughly recommend this pub!

Nice little pub. Rather quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Goodish IPA. Friendly staff.

Some equestrian paraphernalia strewn around, such as an old saddle by the fire, which I found very charming.

A lot of effort has been put into making this pub very nice.Excellent for a quiet evening or sunday lunch with its nice comfy sofas. They now offer a full menu. I have tried myself a couple of dishes, it's fresh, and some of the best food I had in a pub by far.

Have used this pub pre and post name change. I must admit I quite like it. Quiet but not dead. The food used to be below average but it looks better now, but haven't tried. There's some nice leather chairs inside and you can play darts.

Formerly called the Spread Eagle, the Grosvenor has been refurbished and the beer range improved, as well as a few seats put outside round the back. At least the new name is one that might conceivably apply to a public house. It's a bit off the main drag (despite being overlooked from the back by huge almost Stalinist flatblocks) but the owners are clearly making an effort. Nice barstaff also.
