Had a nice visit here in late 2007 and popped in early on a Saturday afternoon hoping for a repeat. As it turned out it was to be their last Saturday as a pub. Said to be closing on June 27, 2008 so that Sainsburys can expand. Met a barber who lamented he'd been visiting the place for 40 years... Most of the lines were empty as the pub wheezed its last breaths. WayfaringStranger - 25 Jun 2008 01:10

Cented, my dear fellow why didn't you challenge this oxegen thief to a duel?. If i owned this pub I would personally overhaul all the staff in their and start over again, with a slick and professional bar staff. Who the hell does he think he is talking to you and your wife like that, in future you should just walk away from these places and then the owners would soon see the errors of their ways. Remember it is us good burghurs of London town that pay their wages. I cant believe the amount of reports on BITE that have encountered the same treatment for rude, surly and aggressive bar staff. People wake up and dont stand for it. demand quality. theregent - 10 May 2008 17:01
I encoutered the rudest barman I have ever come across yesterday. At first he virtually shouted at us for standing in front of the wrong part of the bar, rudely telling us we'd never get served if we stood there. Then when I asked for a hot drink for my wife he basically suggested that he couldn't be bothered to make it as he wanted to serve other customers. Finally, we went to order food to which he told us that they only wanted to make burgers, despite several friends managing to order non-burgers off the menu from a different barman. I won't be returning any time soon. cented - 14 Apr 2008 10:47
