I wish I had seen the previous review before coming in.

The worst pint of London Pride I have ever had. And its the only Real Ale on.

I only came in as the Greyfriar (complete with its Cask Marque sign) was all closed up at 10pm on a Tuesday.

Dreadful place. Avoid.

I've been going to this pub for a number of years, but less so recently. The quality of the ale (London Pride) has been declining and is now undrinkable. On my last visit two of us ordered Pride, but what we received smelt and tasted like vinegar. We immediately asked the barman for a fresh pints, but were refused as "other were drinking the beer". I then approached the landlord who, after tasting it, also refused to change our beers claiming "it was perfect". I have drunk a reasonable amount of Pride over the years, but never have a drunk a pint that bad. We left, never to return again, without drinking more than a sip.

I can accept occassional poor pints, but not a refusal to change them. We have decided to permanently change pubs.

the worst pub in Reading, I have never in my life met a more ignorant man than the guy who owns this pub (martin), very unfriendly unless your a female.

This pub has a lively atmosphere especially with regard to sports, which is why my friend and I popped in to watch the second half of the world cup final.

All seemed good until the final whistle and the landlord said to us we need to buy drinks if we want to watch the football! We were suprised to say the least, as the football was over and we had already bought four drinks (Bulmers - not particularly cheap either) of which the empty bottles were on the table next to us. He mumbled something after we pointed this out to him, but it wasn't an apology that's for sure.

I'm angry at how he talked to us, and disappointed at his lack apology when he clearly made a mistake. My advice is to drink here for a lively atmosphere and to watch the footie or rugby. However, please make sure you ALWAY have a drink in your hand or you run the risk of being talked to like sh*te.

Thumbs up to Spain, but thumbs down to the landlord! ;)
