First of all- I am offended by John - I grew up on Turlin Moor and believe me I'm in no way a layabout or anything else! Also the Double Six closed more than a few years ago from 2003 - Try early 90's! Right got that off my chest! lol The Red Lion I have found always to have a nice mix or young and old. The food (which I go in for) is very nice and well priced. I went there once for New Years Eve - and had a great night of fun! I would say a welcoming average pub. shelleycourt - 25 Jul 2008 17:57

thought the closing down of the double six at turlin moor afew years ago would rub off on this place. It has not .I have visited the pub on a few ocasions and found it friendly and welcoming good food too. millers - 11 Nov 2003 22:44
Entered with some trepidation due to its proximity to the notorious Turlin Moor estate. Pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming atmosphere and a decent pint of London Pride. John - john_norwell@hotmail.com - 28 May 2003 20:27
