Not sure I'd concur with topPints comment about the beer. Yes, the bar only supports two handspumps so the choice may not be brilliant. But these were dispensing Adnams Bitter and Fullers London Pride on during my visit and both were very good.
And as we had come across it by chance when diverting off the M25 to find a decent boozer, the roaring log fire and reasonably priced traditional pub food menu were spot on.
So thought The Unicorn was a decent welcoming pub and wouldn't have an issue if it was my local.

A disppointing selection of beer is the only real down side to the Unicorn which is a real shame as it's atmosphere is generally really good, with a young but respectful crowd. Good bands on most weekends makes this a great place to go with the lads or with the Mrs. Open fire welcomes you into the bar along with pleasant and efficient staff, it's just a shame the beer is naff.

Being stranded in Kings Langley trying to get back to London, I came across this pub on a Friday night. Fantastic place, really friendly staff, wonderful log fire going and a fantastic atmosphere. My friend and I were made to feel so welcome. One of the staff called a local hotel for us and got us a great rate on a couple of nights, so we enjoyed a Saturday night here as well. Live music on the Saturday and the vibe was even better. Enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch before heading back to London. Going back down again in a couple of weeks with a group of friends for another great weekend. So easy to get to from London and such a relief to be in a great personal pub with such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Hats off to staff and management for making this place one to remember.

its a nice old pub, food ok, but can actually get quite busy with yobs and chavs if they are screening a match.. then its menacing., nice in the daytime though..I took my old mother there....

Possibly one of the oddest pubs I've ever been in. We got stranded aound here once waiting for a train and had a beer in this place. There were about 3 people in there, one of whom turned out to be the barman, all of whom were silently watching tv when we walked in. We quietly drank our drinks then made a swift exit. Bizarre.
