user reviews of the Plough Inn, Hastings

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

After 13 years the pub is under new management. The old lot did a wonderful job and brought the locals together and created a great friendly vibe. This a pub that does serve the West Hill well although the new owners will be tested early on as all other pubs in the near vicinity have closed so there'll be a few dodgy characters wanting to spoil it for the regulars.
It could do with having a few new beers in alongside the regular lagers and guinness.Saturday nights are very popular with the regulars, top solo and duo acts,so hopefully that won't change as if it does one fears disasterous consequences.Keep the Plough alive everyone!

great pub, with goodish live music some weekends. mostly one-man jobs doing decent covers. good vibes. nice traditional feel - darts, shove ha'penny teams etc. a few good-looking people get in there from time to time, so keep an eye out. you dig?

I think the days of giro cashing in this pub are long gone, mind you reading the flowery bulls**t prose below I can understand what may have prompted your post, this little pub is a boozer that serves the community on the west hill, it's ok and welcoming to all who enter, the locals will chat with anyone, especially for a pint!

Situated in a quiet residential road on the West Hill, looking down upon the pier and with Beachy Head in the distance on a clear sunny day or frosty moonlit night makes this pub a worthwhile find, slightly off the tourist path. Run by Enterprise Inns, the landlord is welcoming, nicely fitted out local inn with fireplace and pool table. On my visit, afternoon of Italy v England rugby six nations, there were a pile of chip butties on the house. Quality. Two quaity cask ales, Harveys and Pride. If brave, it is a steep climb up the hill, almost directly outside the FILO in the Old Town.
